The NFL’s newest venue is slated to open this weekend when the Los Angeles Rams face the Dallas Cowboys in their new, state of the art home.
SoFi Stadium, in Inglewood, Calif., is a $5 billion project spearheaded by Rams owner and chairman E. Stanley Kroenke. (The Los Angeles Chargers will also play at the venue.) Though there will be no fans at the stadium’s events for the time being, the entertainment experience was crafted with fans top of mind.
Here are five incredible features packed into this new stadium, and be sure to check out the video below to get a closer look at each of them.
- The 70,000-square-foot screen is the star of the venue, powered by a content team of about 80 people on game days.
- Seating begins as close to the field as the NFL would allow it to be built.
- There are more than 40 4K cameras around the stadium ready to get the perfect shot. There are very few (if any) angles that they don’t have covered.
- The seating bowl is sunk almost 100 feet into the ground so that the stadium wouldn’t dominate the landscape. This also creates a line of sight from the gates directly to the field itself.
- The stadium was designed with 5G in mind. This will help to support touchless transactions, which will become increasingly important in the post-Covid world.
