Indian IT consulting giant Infosys has announced today that it will acquire digital services and consulting agency Blue Acorn iCi. According to Infosys, the addition of the Platinum Adobe Solution partner’s digital customer experience, strategy, commerce, design, engineering and analytics expertise will strengthen the company’s overall end-to-end client experience services.
Blue Acorn iCi has over a decade-long track record providing services to Fortune 500 brands across multiple industries such as media, consumer goods, retail, financial services, manufacturing and technology. Together (along with the 2018 acquisition of creative agency Wongdoody), Infosys hopes to further deepen its ability to help global CMOs and businesses in their digital commerce transformation.
“The Blue Acorn iCi acquisition is another important milestone in Infosys’ journey to build capabilities relevant to the digital priorities of our clients and reaffirms our commitment to the Adobe ecosystem,” Ravi Kumar S, president of Infosys, said in a statement. “We are excited to welcome Blue Acorn iCi and its leadership team into the Infosys family.”
Infosys hopes the acquisition will also give it an upper-hand in the Adobe, Magento, Salesforce Commerce and Shopify ecosystems, because Blue Acorn iCi is “among the first ever Adobe Platinum Partners with AEM & Magento Specializations,” according to the statement.
“By becoming a part of the Infosys family, Blue Acorn iCi will be able to better serve our clients and their customers as we elevate our scale, technical acumen, global reach, creative capabilities [and] consumer insight expertise,” Chris Guerra, co-CEO of Blue Acorn iCi added in the statement. “Together, we will be able to offer unrivaled services and insights to help companies become the new leaders of digital experience [and] commerce.”
The acquisition is expected to close during the third fiscal quarter of 2021. Blue Acorn iCi was previously owned by Beringer Capital, which is the former owner of Adweek.
